Untitled (Standard Of Beauty)
Women have to deal with much scrutiny when it comes to body image. Mostly it is from ourselves, but it is fueled greatly by the media and society. We are told that women are meant to look a certain way (figure/style) and if you don’t fit into this standard you start to judge yourself a bit more harshly. “I’m not _____ enough.” Insecurities can take hold and make you feel like you need to change yourself to fit in, to be “Beautiful”. But what is that even? What is it to be beautiful? It’s not something that can be universally agreed upon. Yet some women who have these insecurities will subject themselves to very drastic and painful ordeals to get to this “standard of beauty”.
